Winford E Groves

Winford E. Groves, 81, of Denton passed away on Friday June 9, in his home.

Services for Winford will be Sunday, June 11 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery also in Bridgeport.  Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00- 5:30pm also at Jones.

Winford was born in Bridgeport on April 19,1936 to Raymond L. and Elsie G. (Martin) Groves. At the young age of nineteen Winford met and married the love of his life B.C. Cowan and together they share 62 years of wonderful memories. He served his country in the US Army, and was a Math Teacher for most of his life. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing and playing cards, and board games.

He is survived by his loving wife B.C. Groves, his beloved dog Sophie; Brother R.L Groves Jr. and wife Gussie; Sister-in-law Sue Nichols; grandson Ian Founds; nieces Donna Groves and Karen Groves and husband Brian; and nephew Glenn Groves and wife Tammy.
