William E. Wood

Services for William E. ‘Bill’ Wood, 72, of Cottondale, Texas will be 10:00 am Monday, January 14, 2019 at Grace Fellowship Church in Paradise, officiated by Pastor Rocky Johnson. Burial will follow in Cottondale Cemetery. Pallbearers are Justin Wood, Jacob Wood, Brandon Sessions, Zachary Wood, Blake Brewer, Brayden Brewer, and Josh Cook. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Sunday, January 13 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.  Bill passed away Friday, January 11 at his home in Cottondale.

He was born June 8, 1946 to William Hoyt and Oscar Madge (Morehead) Wood in Boyd, Texas. He was self employed in the construction business.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking, as well as watching his favorite television shows, such as Judge Judy, The Price is Right, and Wheel of Fortune.

Bill leaves behind wife Carla J. (Holt) Wood of Cottondale; sons Robert Wood and wife April of Springtown, Texas, and Todd Wood and wife Christina of Decatur; daughter LeAnn Sessions and husband DeWayne of Bridgeport; grandchildren Justin Wood and wife Melissa, Jacob Wood and wife Dee, Jordan Moshier, Kaitlin Sessions, Brandon Sessions and wife Taylor, Maegen Wood, Zachary Wood, Briana Brewer, Blake Brewer, and Brayden Brewer; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters Betsy Locke of Cottondale, and Linda Hughes of Boyd.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jimmy Wood, and nephew Douglas Wood.
