Wayne Andreasen

Funeral services for Wayne Axel Andreasen, 77, of Bridgeport will be Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00 am at Jones Family Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Charles Reed. Burial will follow in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 25 from 6-8 pm, also at Jones. He passed away Monday, February 22 in Bridgeport. Wayne was born February 27, 1938 in Richland County near Sydney, Montana to Sigurd Jensen and Gladys Leona (Kallevig) Andreasen. He grew up to be very mechanical, and was noted for being able to fix almost anything. But it was his smile that would light up any room. He married Nelta Marie Broom on April 20, 1957 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He lived in the area since 1960, where he owned a general machine shop and served Bowie and Bridgeport for 50 years. He was also in the trucking business for many years. Wayne was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Bowie. He also loved spending time with friends and family. He is survived by his wife Nelta of Bridgeport; daughters Stacy Mitchum of Bridgeport and Marilynn Andreasen of Bridgeport; son Mike Andreasen of Argyle, Texas; grandchildren Angela Reid of Runaway Bay, Texas, Eric Hartsell of Bridgeport, Josh Hartsell of Bridgeport, Keith Lindsey of Bridgeport, Rose Schirato of Argyle, and Melody Schirato of Argyle; great-grandchildren Shane Martinez, Ashlynn Nicole Rodriguez, and Laura Elizabeth Hartsell; siblings Dale Andreasen, Terry Andreasen, Earnest Andreasen, Tony Andreasen, Betty Jackson, Judy Andreasen, Beverly Andreasen, and Arleen Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews, a host of friends, and his four-legged companion Jasmine. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Diane Kay Andreasen, Sylvia Elsie Morton, and Iona Marie Truax; daughters Karen Lea Andreasen and Laura Beth Pittman; and grandson Donald Wayne.
