Vivian Thomas, 90, of Chico, Texas passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012 in Bridgeport, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 5, 2012, in Chico Cemetery. Joey Vick will officiate. Pallbearers are Billy Mack Davidson, Larry Byers, George Byers, David Byers, Jerry Whatley, and Eddy Calicott. Visitation is 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, June 4, 2012, at Jones Family Funeral Home. Vivian was born April 18, 1922, in Vineyard, Texas to Icy (Pippin) and Isaac Byers. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, and visiting with friends and family. She is survived by her daughter Bobbie Strain and husband Jerry; sisters-in-law Dimple Byers and Willie B. Byers; grandchildren Stephanie Newton and Brad Newton; step-grandchildren Erica Parsons, Brien Strain and Frances Strain; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Haskell Byers, Johnnie Byers and James "Barlo" Byers; and sisters Flossie Whatley, Ruby Pitts and Madeline Davidson.
