Graveside services for Sherry (Peel) Spinks, 68, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, at Oakview Cemetery in Mullin, Texas. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Sherry (Peel) Spinks was born on January 30, 1956, in Decatur, Texas, to Kenneth and Willie Mae (Peysen) Peel, and peacefully passed away on June 23, 2024.
Throughout her life, Sherry wore many hats, excelling in various roles including a medical receptionist, a DJ/Sales at KBOC, and even rising to the position of General Manager at KBAL. However, it was her love for music that truly defined her essence. Sherry’s love for music not only brought happiness to her own life but also touched the hearts of those around her. She traveled with numerous gospel singers, skillfully playing the piano and uplifting hearts wherever she went. In addition to playing piano, she had a talent for cooking and took great pleasure in preparing meals for her loved ones.
Sherry's warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Willie Mae Peel; grandparents, Leonard and Mary Peel and Bill and Margaret Peysen; and brother, Calvin Wilhoit.
Sherry will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Richard Spinks; stepmother, Barbara Peel; brothers, Terry Peel, Mike Peel, and Jimmy Wilhoit; sisters, Connie Rye and Kay Watkins; special friends Bill and Virginia Nichols and Sheila Boggs; and a host of family and friends.
