Sharon Kaye Nichols, 73, of New Orleans, Louisiana, a long-time resident of Bridgeport, Texas died Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 23, 2016 in the Chapel at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Born in 1943 in Borger, Texas, to Harold and Maxine Evans, Sharon graduated from Borger High School and attended Frank Phillips College and Washington University in St. Louis. She loved sitting on her porch while enjoying great conversation with friends and family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted member of the Decatur Eastern Star #543, where she was a past Past Matron and truly enjoyed the fellowship and service she shared with her fellow members.
Sharon is survived by her two sons, Jay Strawn and wife Kristin Strawn of San Antonio, Texas and Blaine Strawn of Picayune, Mississippi; three grandchildren Ally Strawn, Kenny Wade Strawn and Savannah Strawn; and brother Kenney Dale Johnson and wife Katherine Louden of San Rafael, California.
Sharon was preceded in death by both parents and her loving stepfather Kenneth (K.D.) Johnson; and two husbands, Donald Strawn and Richard (Bill) Nichols.
