Sarena (Woods) Turner

Funeral Services for Sarena (Woods) Turner, 66, of Chico, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with burial to follow at Chico Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the funeral home. 

Sarena Mae (Woods) Turner was born January 16, 1959, in Montague County, to Jimmy Woods and Mattie (Morgan) Ezzell, and peacefully passed away March 8, 2025, in Chico, Texas.

Sarena lived a fulfilling life, touched by her deep love for her family and friends. She was a proud graduate of Chico High School, where she created many cherished memories. Sarena was known for her dedication to raising and caring for her dogs, a testament to her compassionate nature. She also enjoyed attending the Cowboy Church in Montague, where she connected with others who shared her faith.

Sarena leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will continue to touch the lives of those who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerald Lee Turner; mother, Mattie Ruth Ezzell and husband Jim; stepmother, Joyce Woods; brothers, Carol Tommy Woods and Morgan Wayne Ezzelle; stepbrother, Jack Randel Ezzell; and grandparents, O.T. and Douie May Woods, and Carroll and Stella Reid Morgan.

Those left to cherish Sarena’s memory are her father, Jimmy Woods; son, Jay Turner and wife Cheri; daughters, Laccie Brown and husband Dean, and Laura Evans and husband Chris; sister-in-law, Joann Woods; brother, Jimmie Don Ezzell; sister, Jimmie Ruth Carpenter and fiancé Don Hamner; numerous nieces and nephews; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; lifelong special friend, Nancy Edwards; and a host of friends.
