Roy Davidson

Roy Lee Davidson, 83, of Bridgeport, Texas passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Cates Street Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery. Brother Scott Strother will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Jones Family Funeral Home. Roy was born January 29, 1930, in Bridgeport to Vergie Cora (Reno) and John Anderson Davidson. He served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1951 - 1953. He married Jewel Mae London on November 14, 1954, in Decatur, Texas. He retired as an electrician for Lockheed Martin after fifty years of service. He was a member of the Cates Street Church of Christ. Roy loved horse racing and loved to fish when he was younger. Roy is survived by three sisters, Eula Mae Green of Fort Worth, Texas, Anna Lois Hicks of Lubbock, Texas, and Johnnie Ruth Glassie of Fort Worth; daughter Sandra Lynn Davidson of Denton, Texas; step-son James Gordon Bradford of Decatur; granddaughters Cindy Ann Smith of Bridgeport, Jasmine Jaramillo-Morris of Valley View, Texas, Julie Bradford of Bryan, Texas and Penny Hedgepath of Alvord, Texas; and grandson Chris Bradford of Bridgeport. He is preceded in death by his wife and son Terry Lee Davidson.
