Robert "Bob" Royce Holt

Services for Robert “Bob” Royce Holt, 75, of Bridgeport, Texas will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport, officiated by Brother Gary Demmit. Burial will be in Bridgeport at East Bridgeport Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, March 1 from 6-8 pm at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Bob passed away Thursday, February 28 in Decatur, Texas.      

He was born December 10, 1943 in Bridgeport to Alsie Royce and Mary Ella (Simemore) Holt. On April 4, 1964 he married his wife of 54 years, Sharon Lawrence Holt in Bridgeport. Bob was a diesel mechanic in the oil field for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and camping but more than anything he really enjoyed the trips he took with his children and grandchildren.

He leaves behind his wife Sharon Holt of Bridgeport; son Robert Alan Holt and wife Laurie of  Bridgeport; daughter Teresa Hasten and husband Randy of Arlington, Texas; sisters Reba Bradley and husband Wayne of Bridgeport and Glenda Sims of Bridgeport; grandchildren Charissa Sheffield of Killeen, Texas, Eillischa Hicks of Stephenville, Texas, Lindsey Holt of Bridgeport, Tristen Crawley of Groton, Connecticut, and Erin Holt of Bridgeport; great-grandchild Emma Sheffield along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Norine Phillips Sims, brother Tommy Sims, and sister Loyce Holt Lowery.

Pallbearers are Chris Lowery, Cory Sims, John Simpson, Jon Lawrence, Thomas Crawley, and Josh Hicks.
