Richard LeRoy Harrington, 72, of Alvarado, Texas passed away Friday, February 8, 2013, at home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Bethel Cemetery in Decatur, Texas. Dr. Jimmy L. Horner will officiate. Pallbearers are Jake Moody, Larry Moody, Johnny McDaniel, Michael McDaniel, Dustin Consatte, Glenn French, Jim Addington, and Wesley Westbrook. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, February 11, 2013, at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. Richard was born March 29, 1940 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Myrtle (Griggs) and Earl Harrington. He worked in the oilfields for many years. He also owned paint and body shops and auto repair shops and worked at Watson Truck and Supply in Hobbs, New Mexico. He worked at B&G Transportation until December 21, 2012, where he really enjoyed working with Aaron Whitehead who was like a son to him. Many thanks to Mike and Molly Whitehead who were great to work for. Richard enjoyed dirt car racing at Eunice, New Mexico, where he had many friends. Richard is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Barbara Ann Hudson Harrington; children Vicky Westbrook and husband James of Alvarado, Janice Willyard and husband James of Lovington, New Mexico, Donna Shoecraft and husband David of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Sherry Caldwell and husband Glenn of Chico, Texas, and Richard Harrington, Jr. of Nixa, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers John and Donald Pruitt, both of Hobbs, New Mexico; sisters Dorothy Williams, Carolyn Sudduth, Linda Pietz, and Sandra Freeman, all of Hobbs, New Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews; and special persons Glenn French and wife Michelle of Fort Worth, Texas, Jason Thompson and wife Stacy of Hobbs, and James Terry and wife Janice of Hobbs. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Verdon, Bob, and Jack Harrington and Freddy Pruitt; and sisters Mary Lee Martin and Sharon Schwartz. The family wishes to thank Community Hospice of Cleburne, Texas and the doctors and nurses at Huguley Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
