Ray Gene “Buddy” Moody, Sr., 76, of Paradise went home to be with the Lord on April 26, 2016, in Decatur, Texas. Funeral service is Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Cottondale, Texas with burial to follow at Cottondale Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service. Chancellor and Jones Family Funeral Home in Decatur is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Moody served in the Army from 1957 to 1959. He was a truck driver for over 50 years and was employed by Thomas Steel Drums in Fort Worth for 20 years. He was an ordained Baptist minister and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Cottondale.
Mr. Moody was born to Bill Moody and Maudie Pearl Little Moody on March 14, 1940, in Allen’s Point, Texas. He married Lois Permenter on July 11, 1960, in Stinnett, Texas. Survivors include his wife; son, Ray “Corky” Moody, Jr., and wife Lisa of Paradise, Texas; daughters, Terri Meeks, and husband Dan of Paradise; Annette Forsythe, and husband Gary of Dickenson, Texas; brother, Bill David Moody and wife Carol Ann, of Enid, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Melody Delyn Moody Rasco; and sisters, Eloise Collins and Carol Lynn Moon; brother Johnny Moody; and granddaughter, Morgan Moss.
