Rachel Dee Ince

A memorial service for Rachel Dee Ince, 44, of Bridgeport will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Decatur Church of Christ, officiated by pastors Mike Wiltcher and Craig Jordan. After 10 years of various health problems, she went to be with our Lord on December 22 in Decatur.

Rachel was born at what was then known as Flow Hospital in Denton, Texas on February 23, 1973 to Ray and Tonnie (Rankin) Shipley.

At age two the family moved from Alvord, Texas to Alice, Texas, where they lived until 1992. During the years in Alice she was involved in the school choir, basketball and 4-H. From age 9 to 18 she was deeply involved in 4-H and spent many hours training and showing lambs. She won many ribbons in lamb shows over the years. During her sophomore year in high school she won Grand Champion Lamb at the Jim Wells County Annual Fair. She also helped her sisters with their lambs and indicated she wanted to be a veterinarian.

In 1992 the family moved back to Alvord. On September 3, 1993 she married Christopher Dee Ince at Hopewell Baptist Church in Alvord. Rachel worked for Decatur ISD for 17 years as a Special Needs bus driver, forming an extremely strong love and attachment to all the children she cared for.

She was a member of The Bridge Church in Bridgeport. She loved to be surrounded by her dearest friends. She consistently shared with everyone her passion as an avid Texas A&M fan.

Rachel is survived by her husband of 24 years, Chris Ince of Bridgeport; daughter Cortney Rae Ince and son Dillon Ryan Ince of Bridgeport; parents Ray and Tonnie Shipley of Alvord; sisters Jodie LaRae Shipley of Alvord, and Samantha Rae Brooks and husband Kevin of Abilene, Texas; and her many beloved nieces and nephews.
