Phillip Pierce, 68, of Bridgeport, longtime owner of P&H Muffler and Supply, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at his home. Services will be held Wednesday, December 11at 10:00 am at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport, officiated by Bro. Gary Demmitt. Burial will follow at Thomas Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Pallbearers are Randy Kleam, Travis Provence, Butch Garrett, Gaylord Kennedy, Travis VanHoose, Donnie Burgin, Charlie Deaton, and Pat McGraw.
Phillip was born November 16, 1945 in Harlingen, Texas to Wallace and Marie Pierce. He attended Bridgeport High School, and was a member of the National Guard. He married Kathy Pemberton on June 11, 1966 at Pleasant View Baptist Church. His hobbies included motorcycles, racing, and his grandkids. Phillip was also the founding member and the original 'Biker Santa' for the Wise County Toy Run.
Phillip is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathy Pierce of Bridgeport; sons Richard Pierce and wife Deidra, and Jeremy Pierce; brothers James Pierce and wife Karen, and Stewart Pierce and wife Denise; sister Janette Arthur and husband Lyman; sister-in-law Betty VanHoose and husband Travis; mother-in-law Betty Pemberton; and grandchildren Payton Pierce, Chance Pierce, and Konner Pierce
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Marie Pierce of Bridgeport; father-in-law R.M. "Jiggs" Pemberton of Bridgeport; and brother Ricky Pierce of Monday, Texas.
