Patsy Von Heuvel

Services for Patsy Von Heuvel, 87, of Paradise, Texas will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Paradise, officiated by Pastor Chad Welty. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brandon Buffington, Caleb Buffington, Trenton Buffington, Dale Brewer, Jarrett Holt, and Chris Holt. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday, November 19 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Patsy passed away Saturday, November 17 in Bridgeport.

She was born March 21, 1931 in Bridgeport to Leone Hoke and Mary Lola (Giles) Plymell. She married James Edward Von Heuvel in Paradise in 1948, and the couple produced four children.

Patsy was a seamstress for 20 years in Bridgeport and Decatur, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Paradise.

She loved to read, especially her Bible. Other interests included going to church, gardening, sewing, and cooking, particularly trying new recipes.

Before there was Facebook, Patsy was the social media representative of the family. She had a deep love for her family and often wrote letters, made phone calls and stayed in close touch with her family, including distant relatives.

She leaves behind son David Von Heuvel of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; daughters Gloria Brewer of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Mary Ruth Holt of Paradise, and Martha Upshaw of Aztec, New Mexico; brother Darrell Plymell of Dallas, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents Hoke and Lola Plymell, and husband James Von Heuvel.
