Funeral services for Patricia Sue Deaton, 76, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with burial to follow at Eastside Cemetery. Visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 29, from 6-8 pm. After a long life, filled with love for family and friends, Patricia went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 26.
She was born November 2, 1946, in Bridgeport, Texas, to Jessie James and Anna (McDaniel) Deaton, and spent most of her life in Wise County. It was only during the past two years, in order to be near her sister and family, that she had moved to Jacksboro, Texas, in Jack County. A member of Balsora Baptist Church, Patricia enjoyed visiting with family and friends and spent many hours on craft projects to share with them. She will be missed dearly by her family, but they will celebrate their reunion in Heaven.
Patricia is survived by her sister Rebecca Smith and husband Jim of Jacksboro; daughter Valeria Read and husband Rodney of Bridgeport; grandchildren Raylen Read and wife Jacie; and Racie Lynn Read (the light of her life); nephew Lynn Smith and wife Stacie; niece Jan Inman (who assumed the role of nurse and helpmate) and husband David of Jacksboro; great-nephews Carter Lynn and Jackson Lynn Smith of Wellington, Texas, and Donavon Brice Aydelott and wife Chelsea; great-nieces Victoria Lynn Lawrence and husband Dylan of Salida, Colorado, and Brooklyn Anna Kay, and Isabella Grace Inman, both of Jacksboro; great-great-niece Saphrene Rebecca Aydelott of Salida, Colorado; the Inman foster babies (who held a special place in her heart; she loved each of them); and many McDaniel and Deaton cousins.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Anna Deaton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
