Funeral services for Norma Dell Jackson, 86, of Boyd, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Aurora Baptist Church in Aurora, Texas, with burial to follow at Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, one hour prior to the service, at the church.

Pallbearers will include Kristopher Howe, Jerod Johnston, Dewayne Lee, Jason Heard, Trevor Stewart and Hastin Kelly.

Norma Dell Jackson, 86, of Boyd, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on January 12, 2025, surrounded by family. 

Norma was born on March 28, 1938, in Daingerfield, Texas, to James Hass and Lela Hass-Kirk. She married the love of her life, Melvin Jackson, on February 26, 1977, and spent her life fully devoted to him. They were each other’s lifelong companions and had a beautifully blended family comprised of eight children. 

She was an avid plant and animal lover. Her home was always surrounded by animals of all sorts and she was always caring for plants. Her other hobbies included ensuring her family was always able to spend time together; she had an open-door policy. She lived a life full of love that included raising a family with strong core values.

Those left to cherish Norma’s memory are her siblings Gloria Crisp, Dennis (Margret) Kirk, Robert (Carolyn) Hass; sister-in-law Susan Kirk; brother-in-law Carl White; children Charlcie (James) Lewis, Gina (Dale) Darter, Edie Lieblang, Gloria (John) Hennesse, Serena Howe, Patrick Jackson, Missi Jackson; 64 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents James Hass and Lela Hass-Kirk; brothers Randal Hass Sr., Charles Hass, Doug Kirk; sister Diane White; son Ricky Hass; granddaughter Sandra Fraser; and beloved husband Melvin Jackson.



In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in Norma’s honor to the charity of your choice.
