Moran Carl Roop, Jr

Moran Carl Roop, Jr., 84, of Alvord went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2018 in Decatur. Funeral service will be Friday, November 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Jones Family Funeral Home in Decatur with burial to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday at Jones Family Funeral Home in Decatur.

Moran was born August 29, 1934 in Decatur to Moran Carl, Sr. and Ora Lee Roop. He worked for General Dynamics, Bell Helicopter, TXU Electric, and Lonesome Dove Transport. Moran was also a dairyman and a carpenter. He was a member of Living Word Assembly of God in Alvord. Moran grew up in Greenwood and Slidell.

Moran was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Lona Faye Feemster Roop and Donna (Kathy) Jean Caldwell Roop; grandsons, Troy Roop, Jr. and Michael Roop.

Moran is survived by his sons, Frank Roop of Decatur, Troy Roop and wife Andrea of Henrietta; grandsons, Bryan Monsour, John Roop, Thomas Roop, Tyler Roop, Trevor Roop, and Truitt Roop.
