Melissa Capps

Melissa Jean Capps, 36, of Chico, Texas, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 in Decatur, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Chico. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 3 east of Chico. Pastor Edward Edington will officiate. Pallbearers are Larry Caldwell, Glynn Caldwell, Johnnie Capps, Rudy Engleke, Larry Mader, and Larry Flowers. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Misner and Ben Remmele. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, August 26, 2013 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. Melissa was born August 11, 1977 in Fort Worth, Texas to Helen (Caldwell) and James Capps. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chico. She was a greeter at the church, and her occupation was "hugging." She enjoyed baking, singing, travel, "being bossy," spending time with family, and going to church. She was a Special Olympian. She is survived by her parents; sister Mello-Dee Capps of Wichita Falls, Texas; and grandparents June and James Caldwell of Chico. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Lillie and Melton Capps, Sr.
