Melba Adkins

Services for Melba Jane Adkins, 94, of Paradise, will be held at Jones Family Funeral in Bridgeport at 10:00 am on Wednesday October 12, 2016, officiated by Frankie Garcia. Burial will take place in Alabama on Friday. She passed away Sunday, October 8 in Decatur. Melba was born on October 24, 1921 in Fayette, Alabama to MacDonald and Vercie (Self) Berry. She married Rev. Clatis Ray Adkins Sr. Melba loved sewing, quilting, and reading her Bible twice a day. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She is survived by her son Rev. Clatis Ray Adkins Jr. and wife Diane, daughters Jane Allan Adkins, Joyce Carol Whitworth and husband Kerry; grandchildren, Trudy Samsill. Amy Ramsey, Joshua David Adkins, Leah Rhein, Kara Joy, and Karmen Leigh Ver Mulm; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and five brothers.
