Mary Jane "Janie" Tackel-Holt, 87, of Paradise, Texas passed away on June 23, 2022 in Fort Worth Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 26, at First Baptist Church of Cottondale officiated by Pastor Charles Pugh. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, June 25 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Janie was born September 29, 1934 in Paradise, Texas to Jesse & Mary Butler Tackel. She was educated in Paradise ISD. Janie was married to Carl Theron Holt, her husband of 69 years, until his passing in 2020. She was a retired Hairdresser.
She had a green thumb and loved growing flowers. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, crafts, and watching Texas Rangers baseball. Janie enjoyed watching the birds and made sure they had plenty of food. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cottondale. She was given the Distinguished Mother Award by her six children. Janie especially loved her dog, Sadie. She loved family gatherings and had her family together every Sunday for a meal. Many loving memories were made around the dinner table.
Janie is survived by sons, Ronny Holt and wife Mary of Paradise, Glen Holt and wife Debbie of Springtown; daughters, Karen Holt, Renea Remmele and husband Harold, Beverly Hensley and husband Steve, DeLaine Foreman and husband Tom, all of Paradise; 13 grandchildren, Dale Holt and wife Teri of Paradise, Gary Holt and wife Amie of Paradise, Holly Remmele Wilson and husband Clint of Creede, Colorado, Syndie Turner Rainwater and husband Matt of Paradise, Misty Remmele Barnett and husband Brad of Lubbock, Traci Hensley Woodard and husband Chad of Paradise, Jamie Turner Ward and husband Rob of Olney, Curt Hensley and wife Angela of Paradise, Keila Remmele Strader and husband Elliot of Frisco, Kirsten Holt Singleton and husband Michael of Runaway Bay, Johnathan Foreman and wife Mika of Brock, Aaron Holt of Runaway Bay and Janie Foreman Bolte and husband Justin of Dalhart; 47 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Staci Hensley; brothers, James, Joe, & John Tackel; sisters, Anna Mae Tackel Stidham, and Margaret Tackel Smith.
