Mary Linda Jones

Mary Linda Jones, 73, of Bridgeport, Texas passed away peacefully on September 10, 2021 surrounded by her family. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport. Burial will follow in the East Bridgeport Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home, Bridgeport. 

Bearers of her casket will be Josh Pewitt, Bryan Pewitt, John Brogan, James Brogan, Conner Hurd and Jorge Cruz. Linda was born October 11, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas to Blanche (Stack) and Howard Wharton. She grew up on a dairy farm on the outskirts of Bridgeport. Linda graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1966 where she was part of the Sissies basketball team and FHA all four years. She loved to fish and the great outdoors. Her happy place was Red River, New Mexico where the family vacationed for many years. She attended many ballgames of all sports when the kids were growing up.

Linda was preceeded in death by her parents and one sister. She is survived by her loving husband, Greg; daughter, Tammy Pewitt and husband Ronnie; son Doug Jones, and wife Chasity; grandchildren, Josh Pewitt and wife Jacey, Bryan Pewitt and wife Alyssa, Berkley and Everley Jones, Corbin Coleman and wife Abbie and Emerson Coleman; Great grandchildren, Brynlee Pewitt and Taysom Pewitt; Nieces, Connie Lunaas and husband Mark and Debra Williamson.
