Graveside services for Mary Jewell Hughes, 87, of Decatur, Texas will be 2:00 pm Thursday, January 16, 2020 in Paradise Cemetery, officiated by Mick Savage. Soloist will be Jake Hooker. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday, January 15 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home, 1401 Halsell Street in Bridgeport, Texas. She passed away Sunday, January 12 in Decatur. Mary was born to Joseph Henry and Rose (Hoyle) Bridges in Boyd, Texas on August 20, 1932. She married Joie Dave Hughes on July 8, 1949. Mary is survived by sons Lowell Hughes and wife Brenda of Decatur; Glenn Hughes and wife Linda of Paradise, and Leslie Hughes and wife Sheri of Decatur; grandchildren Jana Rosenbaum and husband David, Jennifer Crawford and husband Ben, Aaron Hughes and wife Katie, Evan Hughes and wife Megan, and Keaton Hughes.; great-grandchildren Martin, Will, and Sarah Crawford, Jakob, Jagger, and Lily Rosenbaum, Hudson and Presley Hughes, and Kambree Daume; sisters June Shillings, Kay Clark and Jane Burgess; cousin and best friend Emily Tackel; sisters-in-law Sherry Lynn Templeton and T.O. Hughes; numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Joie Dave Hughes; son Monty Hughes; grandson Joie Daniel Hughes; parents Joe and Rose Bridges; sisters Wynelle Clifton, Venita Moll, and Gracie Rowland; brothers Allen, Quint, Lowell, and Lynn Bridges.
