Martha Jane Simmons

Martha Jane Simmons, 74 of Poolville, passed away on Sunday October 15, in Decatur, Texas.

 Graveside services for Martha will be at 10:00am on Thursday October 19, at the Boonsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Wednesday in the chapel of the Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas.

Martha was born on April 25, 1943 in Talladega, Alabama to Lonzy and Odelle (Pate) Headley. She loved cooking, gambling, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years Bobby Simmons; sons Lynn Long and wife Jaslyn, Tim and Donnie Walton, Jason Simmons and wife Samantha; daughter Alice Dees and husband Daniel; sisters Lucy Chapin, Jean and Flossie Hunter; 38 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by her parents; sons Joe Dennis Long Jr., Ricky Lee and Henry “Hank” Walton; brothers Carl and Richard Headley.

Arrangements are entrusted to Jones Family Funeral Home-Bridgeport.
