Marilyn Elizabeth Getty

Marilyn Elizabeth Getty, 86, of New Fairview, Texas, passed away on June 6, 2017 while residing in a convalescent hospital in Decatur Texas.   Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 30, at 11:00 AM at Faith Fellowship Church, New Fairview, Texas.   Pastor Windell Splawn will officiate during the memorial service and with burial to follow at Thurmond Fairview Cemetery also in New Fairview.   Jones Family Funeral Home in Decatur is handling the arrangements.

She was born to Archibald Bell and Elizabeth Jones on February 22, 1931 in Los Angeles, California. Marilyn lived in Orange County California for most of her adult life and then in 2005 made a moving decision to go out to Texas to live near her eldest son Wayne and family. She has been a resident of Saginaw, Texas for several years and later moved to live with her eldest son Wayne and his wife Aida during the last five years of her wonderful life.    Marilyn enjoyed the fun times of doing gardening, listening to country music. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, tennis, dancing and was a great concert pianist.

Marilyn was the youngest of two older brothers, Donald, and Elliot Bell, and her older sister Arloa Prierce.  They all have since past on before Marilyn Getty’s passing.  Her four grandchildren include Jaimi Diane Myrben, 37, Maelisa Marilyn Getty 21, Marcus Daniel Getty 19, and Mylene Elizabeth Getty, 17. Her great- grandchildren are Trinity and Caleb Myrben.

Marilyn is survived by her eldest son Wayne, 62, and his wife Aida 51, Getty,of New Fairview Texas, then Ronald Kenneth 59, and his wife Noreen Getty,of Sparks Nevada and her youngest son Raymond Getty 51, and Monica of West Virginia.
