Frances (Upchurch) Davis was born on September 27, 1929, in Shady Grove, Texas, to Hurshel and Viola (Fendley) Upchurch, and peacefully passed away on August 6, in Norman, Oklahoma.
Frances was a proud graduate of Deport High School in Deport, Texas, where she cherished her education and the memories made there. Throughout her life, she dedicated many years to serving others. Frances initially worked at Monnig's Department Store for two decades before retiring as a postal clerk where she formed lasting connections with colleagues and customers alike. She was also a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church, where her presence and warmth touched the lives of many.
Frances' interests were varied but, above all, she found joy in spending quality time with her grandchildren. Among them, she had a special bond with her two young great-granddaughters, Sophie and Bentlie. She would spend countless hours making bracelets and working on word search books with them, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for a lifetime.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents Hurshel and Viola Upchurch of Salinas, California; son Mike Humphreys of Weatherford, Texas; several brothers and sisters; great-grandson Aaron Gayton of Fort Worth, Texas; and son-in-law Phillip Land of Bridgeport, Texas.
Those left to cherish Frances’ memory are her son Terry Humphreys; daughters Brenda Terrell and Teresa Reed; sisters Patsy Phillips, Carolyn Steiner, Rena Ledford, and Sandra Widener; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and family.
