Mara Ooten

Services for 28-year old Mara K. Ooten of Bridgeport will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 10 am at the Cates Street Church of Christ in Bridgeport, officiated by Sam Starr. Mara died July 31, 2012 in Irving. Pallbearers are Ryan Ooten, Nick Bolton, Rob Shannon, Chad Morrow, Nick Copeland, and Shiloh Shannon. Mara was the daughter of Richard Ooten and Paula (Shannon) Copeland. She was born in Decatur, Texas November 19, 1983 and was to begin her teaching career this fall at Midland Lee High School in Midland, Texas, teaching 9th grade. Mara was a young woman who enjoyed living life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed listening to music, baking, and playing disc golf. She was an intelligent woman with a sarcastic sense of humor. She had a BS degree in mathematics and a minor in science. She loved having Fun Day Sundays. She leaves behind her parents, Richard Ooten of Paradise, and Jon and Paula Copeland of Bridgeport; fiancé Nick Bolton of Wichita Falls; brother Ryan Ooten and wife Erin of Decatur; step-sisters Melissa Hill and husband Stephen of Bridgeport, and Natalie Copeland of Irving; step-brother Nick Copeland of Taiwan; grandmother Pauline Shannon of Bridgeport; nieces Abbey and Kaydence, and nephews Kevin and Ian.
