Luther Stallings

A graveside service for Luther C. Stallings, 85, of Burleson, Texas will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Azleland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26 from 6-8 pm at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Luther passed away Wednesday, May 20 in Burleson. He was born February 1, 1930 and was raised in the Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth. Before his retirement, Luther was a platemaker in the printing industry. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Worth. Having a printing background, he was known to always have plenty of scratch paper around. Luther was a fan of Texas sports teams, particularly the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He also enjoyed gardening. He married Helen Stack on Christmas Day 1952 in Fort Worth. The couple were married 62 years before her death earlier this year on February 16, 2015. He is survived by son Paul Stallings; daughters Barbara Nitzinger, and Deborah Hudson and husband James Larry Hudson; and six grandchildren. Luther was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Stallings.
