Lloyd Charles Skinner, 78, of Bridgeport, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in Decatur, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, April 4, 2016 in the Chapel at Jones Family Funeral Home, with burial at Thomas Cemetery. Reverend Allen Bates will officiate. Pallbearers are Roy Reus, Zach Trafford, Connor McHugh, Steve Skinner, Steven Kay, Tommy Kay, Damon Bethurum, and Kevin Warren. Visitation is at 1:00 PM in the Chapel immediately before the service.
Lloyd was born March 30, 1938 in Spanish Fort, Texas to Gwendolyn (York) and Willis Charles Skinner. He married Leatha E. Warren on January 12, 1976 in Castle Rock, Colorado. He was the owner of Skinner Vacuum Truck Service in Bridgeport. He attended Victory Family Church in Decatur. He enjoyed working, gardening, woodworking projects, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of forty years; sons Lloyd C. Skinner, Jr. and wife Marlene of Farmington, New Mexico, Kevin Warren of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Kenneth Warren and wife Debbie of Grand Island, Nebraska; daughters Nadine Mullin and husband Mike of Centennial, Colorado, Terry Tackett and husband Cliff of Bowie, Texas, Sherry Reus and husband Roy of Azle, Texas, Lesa Kaker of Bridgeport, and Roxie Lund of Cortez, Colorado; brothers Herman Skinner and wife Linda of Fort Worth, Texas and Donald Skinner and wife Evelyn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sisters Mary McQuirt and Hattie Menchant; sixteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and three sisters.
