A graveside service for Linda Denise McWilliams, 65, of Enid, Oklahoma, will be 11 am Tuesday, September 27, at Eastside Cemetery in Bridgeport, Texas, officiated by Pastor Bill Hughes. Following the service, a meal will be hosted by the family at the Bridgeport Lions Hall.
Linda was born July 7, 1957, in Aurora, Colorado, to parents Freddie and Glenda Thompson; she passed away September 11, 2022, in Enid, Oklahoma.
Tenderly referred to as Momma and Gramma at home, Linda was a lively woman who had a true passion for truck driving and the open road. Due to her diminutive stature, she became well-known by her CB handle, “Peanut,” but don’t let that fool you; Linda could hold her own with anyone. While she may have talked softly, she walked with a big stick.
Linda loved time spent with family and friends and often accompanied her children and grandchildren on road trips, as well as out on fishing boats. She also never passed up an opportunity to sing karaoke. Linda genuinely cherished these priceless memories made with loved ones.
She always knew how to enter a room; Linda’s spirit and laughter were unique and will always be missed by those who knew her.
Linda is survived by husband, Reggie McWilliams; daughters Leslie McWilliams, of Bridgeport, and Jamie McWilliams, of Enid, Oklahoma; son James McWilliams of Bridgeport; mother, Glenda Thompson, of Decatur; sisters Lissa Mattson, of Fairplay, Colorado, Laurie Hartford, of Chico, and Laina Bowyer, of Decatur; grandchildren Mickey Coggins, Haydon McWilliams, Honesty Davis, Hannah McWilliams, Lena McWilliams, Imagene Tweedy, Destiny Cook, Matthew McWilliams, Marrissa McWilliams, Braden VanCuren, Cadie Pankonien, Christian VanCuren, Lindy McWilliams, Haille Martinez and Jose Ybarra, Cadie Dankonien; as well as 13 great-grandchildren.
Linda is preceded in death by father, Freddie Thompson; daughter, Robyn McWilliams; father-in-law, James Mickey McWilliams; and granddaughter, Aleah McWilliams.
