Lavon Wolff, 74, of Bridgeport, Texas passed away Monday, July 9, 2012, in Bridgeport. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Balsora Baptist Church. Burial will follow in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Brother Glenn Connell will officiate. Pallbearers are Ted Rarick, Bobby Eason, Curtis West, Carroll Franklin, Marshall Coleman, and Jimmy Riley. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Grimes and Bobby Moyer. Visitation is from 6:00 - 9:00 PM Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Jones Family Funeral Home. Lavon was born December 13, 1937 in Santo, Texas to Flora Evangeline (Irvin) and Jewel A. Long. She married Jimmy Wolff on September 9, 1955. They were married forty-five years until his death on December 25, 2000. She was an Avon representative for thirty years and a homemaker. She was a Sunday School teacher for over fifty years and a member of the Women's Missionary Union , the Baptist Women, and Girls in Action. She enjoyed canning, gardening, raising chickens, peacocks, quail and cows on her one hundred acre farm. She also raised award-winning pecans. Lavon is survived by her daughters Cindy Wolff of Bridgeport, and Laquetta Turner and husband Stan of Sanger, Texas; brother Jimmy Long and wife Agnes of Hico, Texas; grandchildren Stan Turner, Jr., Jackie Pevehouse, and Thomas Turner, all of Sanger; and great-grandchild Zach Pevehouse. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Lora Cobb.
