Graveside services for Laura Ann Berry, 84, of Chico, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Bourland Cemetery in Keller, Texas. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. Pastor Ronnie Lawson will officiate.
Pallbearers will include Brent Hand, Brian Hand, Steven Cox, Caiden Berry, Connor Berry, Tim Malone, and Ruben Walker.
Laura Ann Berry was born June 16, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Lawrence Leroy and Mary Francis (Carter) Burton. On February 17, 1955, she married Wendell Morris Berry, Sr., in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and was happily married 68 years before her passing on Monday, May 20, 2024.
Laura, a homemaker, personified grace and elegance in everything she did. She was known for being the perfect southern lady, embodying the values of kindness, hospitality and strength. Laura's skills in homemaking were unequaled, and her dedication to family was clearly evidenced by the way she poured her heart into caring for her loved ones.
Laura's joy in life came from being a devoted mother and grandmother. She found great happiness in nurturing her family and creating cherished memories with them. Her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband; son Wendell Berry, Jr. and wife Holly of Bridgeport; daughter Lindee Hand and husband Mickey of Chico; sister Leah Sutterfield of Mississippi; grandsons Brent Hand and wife Stephanie of Chico, Brian Hand of Chico, Connor Berry of Chico, and Caiden Berry of Dallas; granddaughter Breann Cox and husband Steven of Chico; great-grandchildren Christian, Taryn, Kambree, Camden, Abby, Linden, Austin, Ally, Carly, and Cara; great-great-grandchild Weston; and a host of friends and family.
Laura is preceded in death by her parents and sister Kathleen.
