Joyce had a very sunny disposition. She was caring and generous. She loved to laugh. She loved her family, children, and animals. Throughout her life she worked with pre-school aged children. In Springtown, she retired from Hope Lutheran Church as a pre-school teacher. She enjoyed watching kids grow and learn. She enjoyed crafting and gardening throughout her life. She also loved Jesus and attended Outreach of Love Church. After retirement, she spent a lot of time with her sweet wiener dog, Pepper. She walked him daily and sometimes drank coffee outside while he puttered around the yard.
Joyce always had a love for horses and Texas. She lived in both Texas and Louisiana but ultimately was a Texas girl at heart. Her daughters grew up riding horses with her and she passed her love of horses on to several of her grandchildren. Both of her daughters have horses and longhorn cattle. Joyce enjoyed going out to see the new calves when they were born.
Joyce was born on January 10, 1935 to Joe Lee Marshall and Clarice Peddy Marshall in Shreveport, Louisiana. She is survived by daughters: Amy Lynch of Greenville, Nancy Long and husband Michael of Springtown; granddaughters: Ryan Long of Austin, Kimberly Hermes and husband Scott of Austin; grandsons: Cody Long of Springtown, Chris Lynch and wife Michelle of Caddo Mills; great-granddaughters: Ridley Hermes, McKinley Lynch, Bailey Lynch; great-grandson: Daegen Hermes, and other family and friends.
