John Mitchum

John Carroll Mitchum of Decatur, Texas died Friday, January 6, 2012 in Decatur at the age of 70. A private graveside service will be held. John was born to Ray Bartley and Naomi (Lee) Mitchum in Alvord, Texas on August 22, 1941. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Wise County Precinct #2. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dale Maurice (McCarty) Mitchum of Decatur; sons Carl Mitchum of Sanger, Texas, Terry Mitchum and wife Diana of Lavonia, Georgia, and Kelly Mitchum of Alvord,Texas; daughters Tammy Groves and husband Glenn of Crafton, Texas, and Karen Faulkner and husband Robert of Sanger,Texas; grandchildren Wayne Mitchum of Lavonia, Georgia, Cheyenne Mitchum of Sanger, Texas, Mason Mitchum of Alvord, Texas, Mary Mitchum of Lavonia, Georgia, Amber Mitchum of Alvord, Texas, Dakota Faulkner of Sanger, Texas, and Brooklyn Mitchum of Alvord, Texas. Mitchum was preceded in death by his parents.
