Graveside services with military honors for Jesse Howard “Poppi” Cahill, 88, of Alvord, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Alvord Cemetery.
Jesse Howard "Poppi" Cahill was born on October 21, 1936, in Breckenridge, Texas, to Jesse Warren and Sarah (Wimberly) Cahill, and passed away on January 28, 2025, in Decatur, Texas. He was a retired welder who dedicated many years to his craft. Jesse proudly served his country in the Army and was honorably discharged after the completion of his service.
In his later years, Jesse found joy in simple pleasures. He loved to drink coffee while watching TV, enjoying the comfort of home and the company of his favorite shows.
Those left to cherish Jesse’s memory are his wife of 39 years, Gladys Cahill; sons, Charles Boucher and wife Teresa, and Timothy Boucher and wife Chelsea; daughter, Lora Cahill; brother, Bobbie Cahill and wife Janice; grandchildren, Jesse, Jeremy, Ashley, Lynsey, Angela, Jay, Amber, Atlas, and Lester; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Warren and Sarah Wimberly; sons, Jesse Warren Cahill, Sr. and Johnny Cahill; grandson, Jerry Baker; sister, Wanda Fortenberry; and stepdaughters, Tracy Cahill, and Katherine Wright.
