Funeral services for Jerry Lynn “Pole Bender” Wilson, 79, of Wizard Wells, Texas, will be held at 1pm Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Live Oak Baptist Church in Jacksboro, Texas. A burial will follow at Wizard Wells Cemetery. Pastors Adam Lazarine and David Lively will be officiating. Jerry went to his eternal resting place on December 5, 2022, in Wizard Wells.
Pallbearers will include Jeff Rangel, John Kohlhorst, Chuck Bryant, Robert Eaton, Brandon Wilson, and Dane Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will include Luke Wilson, Gary Wilson, Jason Oakley, and Ronin Wilson.
Jerry was born to Pearlie (Allred) and Seth Wilson August 21, 1943, in Dallas, Texas. He married the love of his life, Deborah Trimble, August 12, 1972, in Kaufman, Texas. They were married for over 50 years.
From an early age, it was evident Jerry was a hard worker; he even taught himself to read. He loved many things in life including the Dallas Cowboys, cars, fishing, watching westerns, working on anything with an engine, and, most of all, his family. His family will always remember him as being funny, sweet, stubborn, and kind. Jerry believed he should always return something better than when it was borrowed. He will be greatly missed by all that crossed his path.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Wilson; sons Luke Sanders Wilson, Gary Lynn Wilson, and Jerrell Boyd Wilson; daughters Virginia Belle Oakley and Jeri Lyn Wilson; sister Glenda Jo Parise; grandchildren Brandon Wilson, Jessie Wilson, Cameron Bryant, Caleigh Eaton, Dane Wilson, Ronin Wilson, Temperance Rangel, Alice Starr Wilson, Teddy Wilson, Sullivan Wilson, and Sailor Mei Wilson; and five great-grandchildren.
Jerry is preceded in death by his granddaughter Dolly Anne Wilson; parents Seth and Pearlie Wilson; brothers James and Gary Mike Wilson; and sister Elizabeth Davis.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or Live Oak Baptist Children’s Ministry.
