Jerry Munn

Funeral service for Jerry Richey Munn, 76, of Bridgeport, will be 2 pm Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas, officiated by Larry Potts. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, at 1 pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Bridgeport.  Pallbearers will include Greg Jones, David Cowley, William Fowler, Bill Miles, Terry Carlton, and Bill Brewer. Honorary pallbearers will include Tano Lopez, David Byers, Brent Singleton, Terry Long, and Dave Tejral. Jerry passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 in Decatur Texas.

Jerry was born December 19, 1945 in Decatur Texas to Orlie and Eva (McBride) Munn. After graduating Bridgeport High School in 1965, he began a 45-year career in the grocery industry, working for Spot Cash, Bridgeport Super Save, and IGA. He received the ‘Employee of the Year’ award in 2002, before retiring from IGA in 2010.  

Jerry is survived by his sister, Donna Munn; brother Ronald Munn and wife Barbara; and his sister-in-law Frances Munn, all of Bridgeport, Texas; nephews Bret Munn and wife Monica, of Paradise, Neil Munn and wife Susan of Midlothian, Charles Munn and wife Cindy of San Antonio and Kevin Munn and wife Stephanie, of Benbrook; nieces Amy Galley and husband Matt of Dallas; Mischa Johnson and husband Glenn of Midlothian, and Laura Needham and husband Tommy of Oklahoma; great-nieces Angela Munn, Felica Lamb and husband Adam, Berlin and Emerson Galley, Heather Feiner and husband Phillip, Brittany Williamson, Candice Stone and husband Brandon and Lindsey Munn and fiancé Josh Ornelaz; great-nephews Aaron Munn, Chris Elliott and Christopher Munn, Jordan Watts and wife Sami, and Drew Watts, CJ Rhine and wife Camella and Tyler Rhine and wife Jessica; great-great-nieces and nephews Kaydn and Adilyn Lamb, Alex, Nicholas, Tristan, and Riley Feiner, Jules Watts, Paisley and Carson Rhine, Ollie, Leah, Harley and Derrick Rhine, Alec Holmes and Grant and Bella Stone, Jonah Munn, and Clara and Elena Ornelaz.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Billy and wife Shirley Munn, Jimmy and wife Joy Munn, Orville Munn and great-great nephew Derrick Holmes.
