Jean Kelley Bush, 88, of Bridgeport, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013, in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Kevin Casey, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 9, 2013 at The Father's House on Hwy 380 between Bridgeport and Decatur. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00-8:30 pm at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Burial will be at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bill Brimmer, Mike Baker, Colter Henderson, David Bush, Henry Patton, Jake Baker and Adam Broughton.
Jean was born January 1, 1925 in Kelleyville, Oklahoma to John Henry and Dicey Bethana (Hammond) Kelley. She was a self-employed bookkeeper and income tax preparer. She married Melvin Bush of Chickasha, Oklahoma in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 19, 1946, and had lived in the Bridgeport area since 1947. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bridgeport before becoming a member of The Father's House. She served on the Bridgeport Woman's Club, Lake Bridgeport City Council, and the Tarrant County Water Board.
She is survived by sons Bill Bush and wife Erlynne of St. Louis, Missouri, and Johnny Bush and wife Susan of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Melva Henderson and husband Carl of Bridgeport; grandchildren Colter Henderson of Lubbock, Texas, David Bush of St. Louis, Missouri, Lauren and Pat King, of St. Louis, Carly and Henry Patton of Grand Prairie, Texas, Casey and Jake Baker of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Kelley and Adam Broughton of Fort Worth; and great-grandchildren Xander King, Trevor and Berkley Patton, and Elia Broughton.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers Irvin Kelley of Jackson, Mississippi, Floyd Kelley and Earl Kelley, both of California; sisters Maurine Meredith of West Monroe, Louisiana, and Marian Klepzig of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
