Graveside services for Janet Cottle, 78, of Paradise, Texas, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024, at Paradise Cemetery.
Janet Elaine Cottle, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on April 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Born on May 8, 1945, in Decatur, Texas, to James Emsley and Effie Kathryn (Read) Finley, Janet lived a life filled with grace, compassion, and unwavering strength.
Having dedicated 19 years to medical administration before retiring, Janet touched the lives of many with her warm smile. Her dedication to her work was surpassed only by her devotion to her family, who meant everything to her.
Janet had a passion for genealogy, reading, traveling, and shopping, but above all, she loved getting dressed up. Whether it was for a special occasion or just an ordinary day, Janet had a knack for putting together the perfect outfit and wearing it with style and grace.
As we bid farewell to Janet, let us celebrate a life well-lived. May she rest in peace knowing that she has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Those left to cherish Janet’s memory are daughters Diana Elaine Green of Corrigan, and Misty Gail Cottle of Paradise; brothers William Read Finley and wife, Sheila, of Bluffdale, and Stephen Clark Finley and wife, Tonya, of Whitesboro; sister Sharon Lee Finley Hunter of Paradise; grandchildren Perri Elyse Moore, James William Hauboldt, Jr., and Larry Read Hauboldt; her niece and person Shelby Finley-Chandler; and a host of friends and family.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents; spouse John Perry Cottle; brothers Michael David Finley and James Eugene Finley; sister Mary Elizabeth Finley; and grandson Christopher Lee Cottle.
