James H. Grantham

A private family memorial service for James H. Grantham, 72, of Paradise, Texas will be held at a later date. James passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 in Decatur, Texas.

James was born December 4, 1947 in Childress, Texas to Hubert and Rebecca (Fitzgerald) Grantham. He married his high school sweetheart, Marchia Jan Evans on December 21, 1965 in Childress. He was 18 and she was 17.

He was a UPS semitruck driver for the last 30 years, before his retirement in 2006.

James spent his retirement working his 10-acre parcel of land; the rest of the time was spent chasing grandchildren.

He was lovingly known for being ornery and stubborn by those who knew him best.

James is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jan Grantham of Paradise; sons David Grantham of Paradise, and Tim Grantham of Euless, Texas; daughter Lisa Buell and husband David of Paradise; twin sisters Fay Hart and Kay Chism; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Jerry Grantham.
