Elgree “Honey” Dennis beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

 Graveside Services for Honey will be at the West Bridgeport Cemetery in Bridgeport on Saturday, May 20, at 10:00 am. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8pm in the chapel of Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Reverend Larry Potts will be officiating.

Honey was born in Ryan, Oklahoma to Forrest and Cleo (Bailey) Hammond the first of three girls, she moved to west Oak Cliff (Dallas) with her family at six months of age. She moved to Bridgeport and married Clinton Lee Dennis in 1981. They had 36 wonderful years of marriage and he had her in his arms when she passed into the Lords loving arms.

   She loved to fish..if they were biting, and was an avid country music enthusiast all of her life. She taught herself to play the guitar at the tender age of ten, and could also play the piano, organ, accordion and bass guitar. She sang at her first funeral at the young age of eight, and continued to sing with her church. She sang with her family at the BIG D Jamboree in Dallas starting at the age of 14.

Honey is survived by her husband Lee; mother Cleo Hammond; daughter Debi Davis; sons Michael Dennis and wife Tarra; sister Margie Lane and husband Ron; granddaughters Rachel Dickerson, Victoria and Emma Davis; grandsons Brandon and Cody Davis Sean-Mikael Dennis; great-grandchildren Joey Lee, Alex Dickerson, Maria and John Henry Davis; nieces Tonyia Caraway and husband John, Tammy Simpson and husband James, Cindy Ward and husband Rick, Cheryl Pinson nephew; David Armstrong.

She is preceded in death by her father; sister Wanda McCarty; niece Kathy Napier and great niece Christi Napier.
