Funeral services for Hector Manuel Rivera, 57, of Bridgeport, will be Monday, March 8, at 10:00 AM at St John’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Eastside Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Sunday, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with Rosary at 7:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Victor Rivera, Juan Rivera, Rogelio Aranda, Ricardo Rivera, Pablo Rivera, David Suarez, Daniel Lara and Miguel Aranl. Hector passed away February 24, in Decatur.
Hector was born December 31, 1963 to Ricardo Rivera and Hortencia Montalvo in Allende Coohoila, Mexico. He attended Monterrey University of Technology, Math and Science. He was a very kind and lovable person. He was loved by everyone who knew him, especially uncles, cousins, nieces, and his wonderful family.
He loved to watch sports, football and baseball. He loved music and enjoyed cooking with family. He enjoyed working with his boss, Rogelio Aranda. He was especially close to his dear friend and special loving brother, Juan Rivera with whom he shared an apartment for many years. His sister, Hortencia R. Suarez was also special to him.
Hector is survived by brothers, Feliciano Rivera of Mexico, Jose Ramon Rivera of Mexico, Ricardo Rivera of Bridgeport, Juan Rivera of Bridgeport, Victor Rivera of Bridgeport; sisters, Guadalupe Hernandez of Mexico, Narcedalia Lara of Bridgeport, Hortencia R. Suarez of Bridgeport, Martha Alicia Rivera of Mexico, Gloria Rivera of Mexico, and Lily Wippman of Joplin Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Victor Rivera and Rodolfo Rivera.
