A memorial visitation for Glenn William Lee, 88, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held 6-8 pm Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Glenn William Lee was born on March 15, 1936, in Hugo, Oklahoma, to William and Irma Lee, and peacefully passed away at home on August 11, 2024, in Bridgeport, Texas.
Glenn married his wife, Rocky, on September 12, 1981, and was happily married for over 42 years. He led a fulfilling life, marked by hard work and dedication. Starting his career at the Old Chevy House, Glenn spent many years there before transitioning to be "just a damned ol' rock hauler," a job that he carried out until his well-deserved retirement. Even after retiring, he began running a local car wash in town.
Outside of work, Glenn's hobbies and interests revealed his numerous talents. Whether he was mowing his lawn to golf course standards, tackling mechanical work, carpentry projects, gardening, or working on his Sudoku puzzles daily proved his love for a good challenge. Glenn's dedication shone through in everything he did.
Glenn's journey was filled with remarkable achievements that he held dear to his heart. Among these was being recognized as the "Legion of Leaders" and the induction into the "Hall of Fame" at the Old Chevy House. His craftsmanship and talent were celebrated when he was awarded "Carpenter of the Year" by Ray Kenyon. Moreover, his dedication to maintaining a beautiful yard earned him the title of having the "Yard of the Year" given to him by Kris Giddens.
Most importantly, though, Glenn poured his time and passion into his family, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Irma Lee; brother Marshall Lee of Amarillo, Texas; sisters, Wilma Gains of Amarillo, Texas, and Dorothy Rierson of Muleshoe, Texas; sons, Eddie Lee and Ray Kenyon, both of Bridgeport, Texas; daughter, Tammy Bush of Bridgeport, Texas; and grandchildren, Kristerfer Giddens of Bridgeport, Texas, and Justin Bush of Denton, Texas.
Those left to cherish Glenn’s memory are his wife, Rocky Lee of Bridgeport, Texas; daughters, Kelly Lee Norris and husband Bo of Paradise, Texas, and Stacey Giddens of Bridgeport, Texas; brother, David and wife Nancy Lee; grandchildren, Shay Giddens and wife Niesha, Sandy Gibson, Joshua Lee, Shayna Childers, Madison Brown, Dahlton Giddens and wife Elisha, Mitchell Jurgeson, and Dawson Alcorn; and 17 great-grandchildren (at last count, pre-Covid).
The family of Glenn Lee (aka “High Pockets,” “Pop,” “Grandpa,” and “Old Man”) invites all those who have cherished memories and stories of his life to join them in a celebration of his remarkable life.
