Gerald Robinson

Gerald L. "Jerry" Robinson, 85, of Bridgeport, Texas passed away Monday, January 2, 2012, in Bridgeport. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Chapel at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Burial will follow in Chico Cemetery with Masonic services and full military honors. Fredric Utz will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2012 at the funeral home. Jerry was born July 2, 1926 to Ruth Dickinson and Melvin Robinson. He was a member of the Rhome United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge. He was instrumental in building the Seven Hills Methodist Church of Rhome. He loved to attend auctions and to raise longhorn cattle. He was a very giving member of his church. Jerry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alice Robinson; daughters Jerry Anne Wallin and husband Paul and Susan Tolbert and husband Larry; son Richard Robinson; brothers Melvin Robinson and wife Kathy, Paul Robinson, David Robinson and wife Josie, Richard Robinson, and Stanley Robinson; sister Caroline Thompson; grandchildren Todd and Tiffany Tolbert and Wendy and Sam Wallin; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and four brothers.
