Frank McCowan

Frank Chuck McCowan Jr., 86, of Gainesville, Texas passed away January 11, 2016 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, at 2:00 PM at Chancellor and Jones Family Funeral Home in Decatur, with the Reverend Claude Chappell officiating. Mr. McCowan was born in LaRue, Texas on April 14, 1929 to Chuck and Luapearl Davis McCowan. He was married to Annie B. Johnson for 50 years. He was a minister, and a member of Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ. He leaves behind his wife Annie, sons Randy McCowan, Frederick McCowan, Freddie McCowan, Michael McCowan, and Troy McCowan; daughters Karen McCowan McCoy, and Janet McCowan; one brother, Gus McCowan; sisters, Phyllis Manuel, Alberta Bell, and Ara McCowan; 13 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Mr. McCowan was preceded in death by sons Frank McCowan III, and Allen Paul McCowan; brother Ray McCowan; sisters Dovie Wylie, Lillian Sowels, Roberta McCowan, and Lula Bell McCowan.
