Memorial services for Frances O’Brien, 83, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 2 pm Saturday, February 3, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Cottondale. Pastor Charles Pugh will be officiating.

Frances O’Brien was born on July 5, 1940, to John and Marie (VanHeel) Kemper in Jefferson, Texas, and peacefully passed away January 22, 2024, in Bridgeport, Texas.

On February 15, 1958, Frances joined hands in matrimony with Jerry LeRoy O'Brien in Gainesville, Texas, and were happily married for 56 years, before his passing in 2014.

Frances dedicated 19 years of her life to serving the students at Bridgeport Independent School District as a school bus driver before retiring. She had a genuine passion for her work and always put the safety of the children first. Frances’s dedication made her a familiar face to generations of students, who fondly remember her friendly smile.

In addition to being a loving wife and an exceptional school bus driver, Frances always found time for gardening, tending plants, crocheting, reading her bible, but most importantly, spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Sherrie Ramsey and husband Robert of Paradise, Texas, and Cheryll Allison and husband Hank of Mineral Wells, Texas; brother George Kemper of Maumee, Ohio; daughter-in-law Carol O’Brien of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren David Ramsey and wife Donna of Rhome, Texas, Shyla Moore and husband Allen of Paradise, Texas, Micheal Allison of Mineral Wells, Texas, Kristina Mertz and husband Chris of Mineral Wells, Texas, Anthony Liles of Fort Worth, Texas, Amanda O’Brien-Quezada and husband Adrian of Fort Worth, Texas, Michelle O’Brien of Fort Worth, Texas, Timothy O’Brien of Fort Worth, Texas, and Catherine O’Brien of Fort Worth, Texas; 15 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerry LeRoy O’Brien of Bridgeport, Texas; son Richard Ray O’Brien of Fort Worth, Texas; brother Frank Kemper of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters Mary Schoonover and husband George of Grapevine, Texas, and Vernie Ross and husband Bill of Irving, Texas; and sister-in-law Carol Kemper of Maumee, Ohio.
