Frances Munn

Funeral services for Frances Munn, 78, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with a burial to follow at Eastside Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the funeral home.

Frances (Lancaster) Munn was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, on August 30, 1946, to Jerral and Helen Lancaster, and passed away September 27, 2024, in Decatur, Texas. Frances became a mother in January of 1965, giving birth to a daughter, Laura. In April of 1968, she married the love of her life Orville Munn, and celebrated 51 years together before his passing.

Frances was remembered by numerous people for working at Westside Grocery in Bridgeport for many years. Then later, worked at Pac-a-Sac in Chico, until she unfortunately became an amputee, which caused an early retirement. However, that didn't slow her down. In her retirement years you could catch her working in some capacity in Chico. From being deeply involved in the early years of Grace Outreach Church, to opening her own store TRJ Kountry Korner, or later running Victoria's Rose Garden, she never slowed down. If Chico was having an event, you could count on her being there.

Her and Orville also loved to go camping but always made time for any event or activity that included the grandkids and great-grandkids. You can bet that her precious “sassy girl” was always right there with them. She took her everywhere.

Frances is survived by her daughter Laura of Springtown; grandchildren Candice Stone and husband Brandon, CJ Rhine and wife Camella, all of Bridgeport, Tyler Rhine and wife Jessica of Springtown, and Misty Stockton of Decatur; Sister Christella Worley of Comanche; Brother-in-law Ronnie Munn and wife Barbara of Bridgeport; Sister-in-law Donna Munn of Bridgeport; Her pride and joy were her 12 great-grandchildren, Alec, Grant, Bella(Is'ie), Oliver, Paisley, Kaidy, Leah, Harley, Logan, Jimmy Derick, Carson and baby Tate on the way; Nephews Robert Franks and Wife Amy, Kevin Munn and wife Stephanie, Charles Munn and wife Cindy, Brett Munn and wife Monica, and Neil Munn and wife Susan; Nieces Michelle Perkins and husband Delaney, Misch-a Johnson and husband Glenn, and Amy Galley and husband Matt; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Frances is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister Patricia Ann; and three great-grandchildren Derick Thomas, John, and Madison.
