F. M. Collins

F. M. “Pat” Collins, 82, of Alvord, Texas, passed away in Wichita Falls, Texas on June 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Chancellor and Jones Family Funeral Home in Decatur, Tuesday, June 14 at 2 PM, with Tom Wacaster and Chester Cullen officiating, with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Pallbearers will be Eric Vincent, Ronnie Corbell, Ronnie Collins, Dennis Lee, Caleb Wood, and Zack Wood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Thompson, Dale Burks, H. L. Ross, Ronnie Choate, and Bob Hussey. Visitation will be Monday, June 13 from 6-8 at the funeral home. Mr. Collins was born June 27, 1933 in Alvord, Texas, to Zack and Velar (Anderson) Collins. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and Wise County Veterans. On December 29, 1963, he married Marilynn Vaughn in Chico, Texas. He was a long time farmer and rancher who loved to play dominoes in his spare time. Mr. Collins is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilynn; sons, Barry Wood of Bridgeport, and Kevin Wood of Alvord; sister, Viola Beggs; brother-in-law, Ralph Vaughn and wife Lorna of Corsicana; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, J. W. Collins. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Bridgeport Church of Christ.
