Ella Mae Russell

A Funeral service for Ella Mae Russell, 82, of Bridgeport, Texas will be Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by Rev. Philip Weitner. Burial will follow at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Pallbearers are Alex, Kyle, Michael, Logan, Jerry, and Keagan. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, one hour prior to the service. Ella passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at home in Bridgeport.

Ella was born on May 14, 1936 in Corinth, Mississippi to Alvie and Becky (Bratton) Perkins.

She married George W. Russell. They were married for 17 years.

Ella really enjoyed working in the flower beds and watching the birds. Her favorite was the hummingbird. She always made sure all the animals were fed. She also enjoyed spending time with her children. Her children were her life. Ella’s last spoken words were “Are my children ok?” She loved her dogs Bitsy and Blackie.

She is survived by her brothers Gerald Perkins and wife Robbie of Albertville, Alabama and Nathan Perkins of Albertville; sister Betty Jean LaCorte of Albertville; daughters Sheila Mae Hastings and husband Dan of Chico, Texas, Doris Marie Faris and (deceased) husband Jim of Hurst, Texas, Darlene Luedtke and husband Peter of Galveston, Texas; sons Charles Warsham of Hurst, Stephen Warsham of Michigan, and Gary Warsham and wife Diana of Garland, Texas;     19 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild..

Ella was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Herbert, Horace, Charles Ray, and Harold; sisters Marie and Elizabeth; and son James Edward Warsham.
