Elizabeth McDaniel

Funeral services for Elizabeth McDaniel, 78, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 10 am Friday, April 21, 2023, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Burial will follow at Jim Ned Cemetery in Runaway Bay, Texas. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday, April 20, also at the funeral home. Pastor Joey Vick will officiate. Elizabeth passed away, peacefully, surrounded by her family, on April 14, 2023, in Decatur, Texas.

Pallbearers include Curt Williamson, Ronnie Stokes, Scotty Jobe, Chucky Jobe, Tim Yale, and Rusty McClure. Honorary pallbearers include Kevin Lemond, Colt Lemond, and Mike Lemond.

 Elizabeth was born May 4, 1944, in Arlington, Texas, to Odell and Thelma (Mathews) Yale. She later married William McDaniel on February 18, 1995, in Wise County, and was happily married for 13 years, until the time of his passing. Elizabeth was a hardworking, retired beauty operator. She loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays, and was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, and mother; her favorite role, though, was that of a doting grandmother who absolutely cherished her grandchildren. Elizabeth was a respected member of the community and was well known for her involvement with, and contributions to, Bridgeport’s First Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

 Those left to cherish her memory are her son Frank Odell Hobbs; daughter Melissa Diane Collins; brother Marion Yale; sisters Jean McClure and June Lemond; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, and husband William McDaniel.
