Edna Harvison was born May 27, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio, to James and Edna (Taylor) Handley, and peacefully passed away on August 27, 2024, in Perrin, Texas. She was a beloved figure in Springtown, Texas, where she spent over 50 years as a dedicated businesswoman.

Edna married Jimmy Harvison on October 29, 1974, in Colleyville, Texas, and soon after moved to Springtown, to pursue their passion for the hatchery business. This is when she earned the fond nickname, the "Chicken Lady." In addition, they established J & E Air Conditioning in 1976, a venture they successfully operated until selling it in 1999. After that, Edna embarked on her own journey, founding West Side Storage, where she worked tirelessly for 20 years before enjoying her well-deserved retirement.

Known for her warm personality, Edna was always ready to help others and had a gift for making friends wherever she went. She had a deep love for animals, particularly cows, cats, and chickens, which filled her life with joy. She often enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in her yard and overseeing her beloved pets.

Her contributions to the community and her caring spirit will be remembered by many. Edna leaves behind a legacy of kindness and entrepreneurship that touched the lives of those around her.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents James and Edna Handley; brothers Jerry and Donald Handley; and in-laws JP and Blanche Harvison.

Harvison of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Christy Dauenhauer and husband Bobby of Springtown, Texas; sisters Donna Dickerson and husband Clyde of Paradise, Texas, and Martha Johns and husband Bruce of Burleson, Texas; sisters-in-law Donna Handley of Paradise, Texas, and Vera Knight of Alvarado, Texas; grandchildren Caitlin and Payton Dauenhauer of Springtown, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and family.
